Sacred Heart Syro-Malabar Church, Thunder Bay was established in 2024 by Syro-Malabar families seeking to live and pass on their faith.
The mission began with an online General Body Meeting on November 22, 2024, followed by the first Holy Qurbana on December 15, 2024.
Guided by our clergy and under the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Mississauga, we continue to grow as a united, prayerful, and welcoming faith community rooted in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
To be a vibrant community of faith that celebrates the rich Syro-Malabar liturgical tradition while serving as a spiritual home for families in Thunder Bay. We strive to deepen our relationship with Jesus through the Holy Qurbana, prayer, and service to one another.
To grow as a united parish family that preserves and passes on our Catholic faith to future generations, while welcoming all who seek to encounter the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in our community.
First General Body Meeting held online, bringing together Syro-Malabar families in Thunder Bay to establish our parish community.
Celebrated our first Holy Qurbana, marking the official beginning of our parish's spiritual journey together.
Continuing to grow and serve our community through regular Holy Qurbana, ministries, and fellowship under the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Mississauga.
Our parish is named in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a profound symbol of God's infinite love and mercy for humanity.
The devotion to the Sacred Heart reminds us of Christ's boundless compassion, His sacrifice for our salvation, and His call for us to love one another as He has loved us. This devotion is at the center of our parish life, inspiring us to live with grateful hearts, serve with compassion, and grow in holiness.
Each year, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart (Perunnal) as our parish's patronal feast, a joyful occasion that brings our community together in prayer, worship, and celebration.
We welcome you to be part of our growing faith community
